Henri Merceron (a listed artist) immigrated to New York City sometime around 1970. He actively showed in galleries. In 1973 he exhibited at Galerie Taj-Caribe (20 East 69th Street). The exhibition pamphlet stated: "Henri Merceron is the first Haitian artist, we believe to have worked through such a wide variety of media to communicate the deep emotional hopes and struggles which characterize life. Le Nouvlliste, November 2, 1973 Port-au-Prince, Haiti" .

A highly talented listed artist, Merceron is relatively unknown to the United States, however the artist made many friends with New York collectors. In this sale we have paintings, sculpture in marble, soapstone and metal. We feel his work is classic and timeless.
